Amber Elizabeth Davies (born 4 October 1996) is a Welsh actress and television personality. After winning the third series of Love Island in 2017, she pursued a professional acting career, having trained at the Urdang Academy in her youth.

She also appeared in the CBBC television series Almost Never and is set to compete in the sixteenth series of Dancing on Ice in 2024.

Life and career[edit]

Davies was born on 4 October 1996 in Denbigh, North Wales.[1] Her father is a plumber and her mother is a mental health nurse and she has stated that she is from a working-class background.[2] Aged 16, Davies gained a scholarship to train in musical theatre at the Urdang Academy in London. She worked as a dancer at London nightclub Cirque Le Soir and auditioned for The X Factor before starting her television career professionally.[3] In 2009, she competed in another singing competition, Gospel Dream, where she reached the final.[4]

In 2017, Davies won the third series of Love Island alongside Kem Cetinay. Soon after, she released a lingerie range with Boux Avenue.[5] In the same year, she launched a clothing range with Motel Rocks whilst acting as an ambassador for the brand.[6] Davies then appeared as herself in several television series, including And They're Off!, All Together Now, The One Show, as well as documentaries such as Amber & Dolly: 9 to 5 and When Reality TV Goes Horribly Wrong.[7][8][9][10] The former documented her stage debut in 9 to 5: The Musical as she began to pursue acting professionally.[11]

After her role as Judy Bernly in 9 to 5: The Musical throughout 2019,[12] Davies was cast in Bring It On: The Musical in 2021.[13] That same year, she was cast in the CBBC television series Almost Never, portraying the recurring role of Jess in the final series.[14] Davies then starred in Back to the Future: The Musical in 2022,[15] followed by her role in Pretty Woman throughout 2023.[16] In 2024, Davies is set to compete in the sixteenth series of the ITV1 competition series Dancing on Ice.[17]
