Early life[edit]

Goth was born in Southwark, London in 1993. During her childhood, she relocated to her father's native Canada where they lived on a farm,[1] and later moved to Brazil with her mother.[4][5] Goth's maternal grandparents are American artist Lee Jaffe and Brazilian actress Maria Gladys.[4]

At the age of twelve, she returned to settle in London with her family. At age fifteen, while attending the Underage Festival in London, Goth was discovered by fashion photographer Gemma Booth, who signed her to Storm Model Management.[4][6] She subsequently appeared in advertisements for Vogue and Miu Miu.[6]

In 2013, Goth made her acting debut by playing the role of P in the erotic drama film Nymphomaniac: Vol. II, along with Charlotte Gainsbourg and Willem Dafoe in the segment "The Gun".[4][7] Later she played Sophie Campbell in the Sky Atlantic's crime drama series The Tunnel.[4][8]

In 2014, Goth appeared in the Future Unlimited's music video for "Haunted Love," which was directed by Shia LaBeouf.[9] Later she appeared in Stephen Fingleton's directed introductory short film Magpie along with Martin McCann.[9]

In 2015, Goth played the lead role of Milja in the post-apocalyptic thriller The Survivalist along with McCann, and directed by Fingleton. The film was premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival on 18 April 2015.[9] She also appeared in the BBC One's crime series Wallander as Hanna Helmqvist.[9]

Goth played Meg Weathers in the disaster adventure-thriller film Everest, along with Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Josh Brolin, and Robin Wright. She played the daughter of Brolin and Wright's characters.[4][7] The film was directed by Baltasar Kormákur, and was released on 18 September 2015.[10]

In 2015, Goth was filming a lead role in the horror film A Cure for Wellness.[7] Directed by Gore Verbinski, the film was released on 17 February 2017 by 20th Century Fox.[11]

Personal life[edit]

Goth met her co-star and later boyfriend, American actor Shia LaBeouf while filming Nymphomaniac in 2012. On 10 October 2016, Goth and LaBeouf appeared to get married in a Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator.[12][13] Two days later, a local official claimed that the pair wasn't legally married, but instead a commitment ceremony was performed.[14] Later that month, LaBeouf confirmed their nuptials on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.[15] In September 2018, it was announced the couple had separated and filed for divorce.[16]
